Ok, so somebody has been dropping the writing ball and that somebody is me. As you know, beginning shortly after the New Year, I started taking yoga teacher training. The training has been simply amazing, but balancing the yoga training with everything else has been a bit challenging. I’m in class from 12:00 – 6:30 Saturdays and Sundays, plus the 30 minute drive there and back. Then throughout the week I have written and reading homework to do and I have to take at least one yoga class. As I said, I’m really enjoying the class but the weeks have been flying by! By Monday, I’m pooped after my weekend of yoga so nothing really gets done that day. I take my self-care and time with my family very seriously, so when I need a rest or my son tugs on me, I close my laptop. I know there’s nothing wrong with that and I encourage others to do the same.
On top of my new yogi schedule, I’m weaning JT. In addition to being an emotional roller coaster (more on that later), weaning requires me to keep him more occupied than usual and get creative with my soothing techniques.
Then there’s the wedding, which is rapidly approaching, meaning I actually have to finish planning it.
Finally, to add a little spice in the mix, I’ll be starting a part-time job next week. Now, most people might read that and think that will just makes things worse, but I’m hopeful. I’m one of those people who not only works well, but works better under pressure so I think the job will actually help me create more structure and discipline.
I say all of this to be transparent and reassure any inquiring minds that I will be posting more regularly soon. I genuinely appreciate you for bearing with me in the meantime. As soon as I’m able to strike a balance between being very meticulous with my blogs, a devoted yogi, and present for myself and my family, we will be in business.
